Year In Review

With your support, we are continuing to lead the fight against brain tumors. Through our efforts in focused research, innovative programs, and strategic collaborations, we are working tirelessly to deliver progress to the brain tumor community. Below are highlights of our latest work – and how your generosity is helping to create real impact each and every day. 1:3 Children
More than 4,000 children  are diagnosed with a brain tumor each year and today it's the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in children under the age of 10. To drive progress in pediatrics, National Brain Tumor Society has committed to direct one-third of its research budget toward this area, including Project Impact.
Today/Tomorrow
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM)  is a highly aggressive and the deadliest form of brain cancer, effecting hundreds of people each day. Today, only 5%-10% of all diagnosed with a GBM will live beyond 5 years. National Brain Tumor Society created the Defeat GBM Research Collaborative to accelerate progress and dramatically improve patient survival rates. Our aim is to double the amount of patients who live beyond 5 years.
Rare Deadly
Oligodendroglioma  is a rare brain tumor, representing only 6% of all gliomas. Given its rarity, not much is known about this tumor type, and treatment options are limited. To support those affected, the National Brain Tumor Society created the Oligodendroglioma Research Fund to uncover new and better treatments for these patients.
69,000
Each year  thousands of men, women, and children will be diagnosed with a brain tumor. Brain tumors cannot be prevented and treatment options are severely limited. And, brain tumors can strike anyone and anytime. We need your help to drive discovery and find a cure.
